2022 Shallow Water Series #4 - Last Light

Tom Estlow and Pat Regan Memorial Race

Saturday, November 5th, 2022

Last Light Shallow Water #4, the Tom Estlow and Pat Regan Memorial Race is this Saturday. This race is open to all dinghies. We will use your Portsmouth Rating.Racing will be in the main channel, inside of the Marina del Rey Breakwater, from Burton Chace Park to the Marina Breakwater. Selected races will start and finish in front of the club.Racing starts at 2:00 pm,NOR here.

Sunday Brunch
& Dinghy Day

11 am - 2 pm
Members Jess Lipowski and Alec Offenbergerwillhostthis Sunday's Brunch.They plan to prepare abrunch that will be south of the border witha taco/burrito bar served with thetraditionalmargaritas. Ole!

After brunch stick around for Dinghy Day and hop aboard one of the club's boats for a sail around the Marina Channel.

Ukulele Night

The second Friday isalways rocking thanks to the talented South Coast Corinthian Strummers. Meet at the clubhouse and listen to a ukulele jam session. Everyonewelcome sit in orsit back, relax &enjoy the music.

Campbell Cup Race Results - Bob Decker and crew (left) from Cuchulainn won first place. Lenny Gordon with Sunshine came in second and Gary Brockman racing Squall was third. Great day to be on the water and thanks to all the boats who entered and raced!

November Officer of the Day Schedule

Let the Officer of the Day WranglerBruce Fleckknow what shift you want to take for December. Open shifts can be found on the SCCYCcalendar. The club is going to begin assigning Flag and Life members to Officer of the Day (OD) duty for November and beyond.

SCCYC New Applicants
New member Raj Nydoomet Mark Brazil at a fellow sailor's funeral and after talking, Mark suggested Rajjoin SCCYC. Raj has some sailing experience and has been racing with Lenny Gordon aboard Sunshine. He looks forward to gaining experience in the centerboards and hopes to begin racing in our dinghy fleet.He's been studying up on ukulele and hopes to join in the monthly Friday fun.You'll see him at many club events and we welcome his enthusiasm. Please introduce yourself.
