Double handed trip from Ensenada B.C to Mazatlan, Sinaloa Mx. Dec 28th 2022 to January 5th 2023. Offshore passage, one stop at Cabo San Lucas.
It all started with a phone call from my good friend and old dock Neighbor, Walt Lloyd. “Hey Thomas! How are you? Remember us talking about sailing “Tess” Down to Mexico 2 years ago? Are you still interested?” Response: Hell Yes! Lets go. Walt a director a photography had left Marina del Rey on his Catalina 42’ “Tess” back in Dec 2020 down to Ensesnada BC to prepare for retirement and a cruising lifestyle. Due to the covid19 pandemic with restrictions and uncertainties his plans changed. The boat “Tess” made her home at the Coral Marina in Ensenada for the next two years. Walt put off retirement and worked on a couple of Films.
Dec 27 2022 Arrived in Ensenada, swapped out two (Big) batteries as needed. Went to the secretary de Marina, (Port Captain) for Visas and Mexican paperwork. Checked boat and systems out for our trip. Dec 28th 2022, departure from Ensenada at 12:00pm the adventure begins. All in all one of the best sails down the coast to Mexico that I have done.
